Born in Leningrad on May, 27, 1949.
In 1969 studied in Leningrad Art school of the name of Serov.
He worked on Lenfylme and carried with illustration of books for children and got a reward for it.
From 1985 till now successfully co-operates with the Western-European artistic galleries of Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Italy, his works are also in private collections in Ireland, Spain and the USA.
He lives and works in Saint Petersburg.
His favourite business is the illustration of children' books.
It is difficult to give the certain name to the artist’s unique style. Every of his pictures remind colourful costume presentation with theatrical masks, figures of animals and birds. Leonid Sergeev works in the oil-technique and water-colour.
